Conference Room Upgrade for NAVSEA HQ
U.S. Department of the Navy
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)
The Problem
NAVSEA required an enhanced network infrastructure as well as the installation and configuration programming of Government Furnished Equipment across 41 different conference rooms to bolster connectivity, operational efficiency, and interoperability of equipment.
The US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is responsible for building, delivering and maintaining ships, submarines, and systems for the US Navy. The NAVSEA headquarters in Washington DC consists of two facility buildings totaling over 650,000 square feet and supporting over 3,000 employees.

The Solution
We provided a 5-phase strategy for removal of old VTC equipment, logging of inventory, and installation of new AV systems, digital control access panels, projectors, and other technology systems.
The Impact
E5 was able to successfully deliver enhanced conference room functionality to all 41 rooms with modern, reliable, and user-friendly technology. This helped to improve the operational capabilities of NAVSEA HQ conference facilities and to increase productivity within those workspaces. The project was completed on time and within budget, demonstrating E5’s commitment to ensuring clients get the best results when they need it.
We provided a 5-phase strategy for removal of old VTC equipment, logging of inventory, and installation of new AV systems, digital control access panels, projectors, and other technology systems:
Phase 1 began with removing outdated equipment and preparing for the new system installation.
Phase 2 involved planning and designing a layout for new equipment, conducting meetings and site visits to clarify requirements, and integrating feedback loops to ensure user-friendliness and functionality.
During Phase 3, we prepared the network for new equipment installation by relocating outlets, rewiring internet cables, and ensuring infrastructure and aesthetics goals were met.
In Phase 4, we began installation of the A/V solutions, configuring devices for maximum performance, and ensuring all components met performance criteria.
Phase 5 comprised testing and user training, where all solutions received rigorous performance testing, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were provided to users, and comprehensive training sessions were held for NAVSEA HQ staff.
